Lisa is a very funny woman with sharp perceptions into the generation that we happen to have in common. I have been a fan of her diary for some time now. Went so far as to write a fan letter that apparently chuffed her somewhat. Hell, I just figgered I like it when I receive unsolicited accolades from stunningly intelligent, gorgeous people why wouldnt she? Anyway, as she has proven to be not only funny and perceptive, but consistently so, we exchange the occasional chatty, funny, highly perceptive email. We both seem to have a penchant for making fun of the goths we used to be all those years ago, and as such Fallen Dark Angels (FDAs), we can both appreciate, and merrily mock most of the spookier websites out there. So was I surprised and gleeful this morning when I received a charming email from this fabulous woman with a URL for a mock-goth site she had created to exercise her Muse and kill an hour or two? Yes, I was. Surprised and gleeful, I mean. Well, I cooed and purred and laughed and spat and appreciated both the entire concept, and the minute details that added to it the redundant adjectives, the poor typing, the total lack of grammatical and/or design skills. All this is difficult to do if youre educated. So of course my own tiny mind went reeling down the same corridor and I produced a like product as an hommage of thanks for her efforts at entertaining me. Perhaps Im negating my hommage and gratuity by posting her URL and this anecdote without her permission on my diary for all 17 of my readers to gawk at, but then thats just my special, precious way one maddening contradiction after another its what makes me so very, very popular. Bouncy, bouncy. Check Wednesdays entry for the Contest and list of completed projects by participants in this stupid game. |
